Having returned to racing in typically strong form this time in, classy mare Catkins has opened as and maintained status as outright favourite for success in 2014 Golden Pendant betting markets, currently available at $1.55 odds, ahead of Arabian Gold ($6.50) and Neena Rock ($11) at Ladbrokes.com.au.

Will Catkins justify her resounding favouritism and win the 2014 Golden Pendant, or will one of her classy rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Catkins ($1.55)

Contesting an impressive record of 12 wins and seven minor places from just 24 competitive starts, Catkins is without doubt the class horse of the 2014 Golden Pendant field and is a leading chance of securing another race win on Saturday. A standout performer over the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival, Catkins returned to racing in scintillating form this year; winning both the Group 2 Breeders Classic (1200m) and Group 3 Wiggle Stakes (1400m) first-up before finishing third in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) most notably. Jogging home to win the Group 3 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) with ease first-up on September 13th, the Dubawi mare will leave from the ideal barrier 6, will be partnered by regular jockey Hugh Bowman and is arguably the most sure thing for success on Saturday’s entire Rosehill card.

2nd

My Sabeel ($19)

While allocated the slightly wide barrier 10, My Sabeel carries an excellent form line into the 2014 Golden Pendant and is a great chance of finishing in the top three in the Rosehill feature, delivering on exceptional odds of $3.80 to run a place. Finishing in the minors in two Rosehill minors over 1400m, the Savabeel mare returned to the winner’s circle in the Group 3 Toy Show Quality (1300m) on August 23rd, and while unlucky to be blocked for a run when fifth in the Listed Arrowfield Stud Stakes (1350m) on September 5th, ran second to Catkins in the Sheraco Stakes last time out. Boosted by the confirmation of in-form jockey Tye Angland, My Sabeel offers punters exceptional value in Golden Pendant betting markets.

3rd

Fine Bubbles ($19)

Returning to racing in great form this time in, Fine Bubbles secured arguably a career-best victory in the Group 3 Tibbie Stakes (1400m) at Newcastle last time out on September 18th and is a great chance of figuring in contention in the Golden Pendant. Running second to My Sabeel in a minor over 1250m at Canterbury on June 11th, the Casino Prince mare has continued to build in form and class via a win over classy competition in the Gouldson Injury Law Handicap (1400m) on August 9th and while impressive in the Corona Beach Party Handicap (1200m), was unfortunate to be blocked for a run over the final 200m. Confirmed to be partnered by leading jockey Brenton Avdulla, Fine Bubbles is more than worth consideration for a Golden Pendant bet.
